School Meals/Snacks

Lunches

Here at The Compass Primary Academy, school lunches are provided by Kettering Science Academy.  All food is freshly prepared and cooked on site in our bespoke school kitchen.

Lunches for Key Stage 1 children (Reception, Years 1 & 2) will be free of charge under the Government's Universal Free School Meals (UFSM) scheme. Meals are also available to Key Stage 2 children, but these are chargeable at a cost of £2.95 a day.

Meals can be booked and paid for by midday on Thursday, via the WisePay system.

Some children in Key Stage 2 (Year 3 upwards) also qualify for Free School Meals due to their parents income.  If you’re not sure if your child qualifies for Free School Meals, visit http://www3.northamptonshire.gov.uk/councilservices/children-families-education/schools-and-education/Pages/free-school-meals.aspx.  For more information on how your child (whether in Reception, Key Stage 1 or 2) can benefit from further funding which is given for those who qualify for Free School Meals, please look at the Pupil Premium section of our website by clicking here.

If you require any assistance then please do contact the office.

Please see the latest menu attached to the bottom of this page.

Snacks

All children are encouraged to have a healthy snack during playtime. This can include fresh fruits or vegetables or a cereal bar.

We aim to be a nut free school for our children. Parents are reminded that all snacks sent into school should be nut free.

EYFS & Key Stage 1

All children in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 have access to free fruit or vegetable snacks each playtime as part of the national School Fruit & Vegetable Scheme. These are delivered to the school and, throughout the year, children have access to a wide variety of fruit and vegetable snacks including carrots, tomatoes, apples, pears, strawberries and raisins. Parents are welcome to send in their own healthy snack as an addition to this.

Water

All children are to bring a water bottle to school daily. Regularly drinking water helps improve concentration. The water bottle shall be sent home daily for regular cleaning.
