What help is there for families of autistic children?
Mrs Rebecca Holmes (SENDCo) is always happy to discuss any difficulties you are having at home and help you to find the right advice/support. However, your GP, Health Visitor or the School Nurse may also be able to help you with advice about some aspects of your child’s behaviour, such as eating, sleeping or toileting.
In addition, there are both local and national support groups for parents whose children have a diagnosis of autism:
- Enfold are a local fast-growing charity and support service in Northamptonshire who provide support, information and training for families around autism.
-
Autism Education Trust is a not for profit programme led by two national autism charities – the National Autistic Society (NAS) and Ambitious about Autism (AaA) supporting families around autism.
- Spectrum Club is an online parent peer-support group with a wealth of expertise and knowledge.
